Instructions

  • Divide the participants into groups and ask them to collectively reflect (and write on a sheet of paper) the actions undertaken and results reached until that moment by the monitoring community, following these questions (20 min):
    • Which actions/results have been achieved?
    • Which have not been?
    • Why?
    • What have been the problems, or difficulties internal of the groups that prevented the objectives from being achieved?
    • What have been the problems, or difficulties external to the groups that prevented the objectives from being achieved?
  • Then ask each group to try to identify possible collective solutions to every difficulty and problem. Ask them to write them on a different sheet of paper (20 min)
  • Ask every group to present the results and proposals to the plenary (20-30 min)
  • The proposals can be modified or negotiated in plenary to obtain solutions shared by the whole group (20 min)
N.B. Do not blame individuals for any shortcomings, as the whole process takes place collectively and is therefore the whole community’s responsibility. One should always think in terms of collective solutions and all proposals should be constructive. This attitude is intended to make everyone feel free to ask the community for help to improve their efforts or change their role.

DIGITAL TOOLS

Digital tools you can consider:

  • Use a video conferencing tool like Zoom, or any other platform that supports online meetings and breakout rooms.

  • By using online collaborative whiteboard platforms like Jamboard. Miro, Mural, you can carry out the brainstorming session with the students – each group can work on a separate slide of the jamboard covering one of the five questions of the activity. After the brainstorming they can slide to the other jamboard sheets and see the answers of the other groups.

  • By using the same online collaborative whiteboard platforms, each of the 5 groups can work on its proposals for overcoming the challenges and present them to the others.
