Raising awareness and strengthening civic competences for active citizenship is essential for fighting corruption.
Young people are a key pillar in this vision, as well as the first to suffer the long-term effects of corruption. From housing shortages to inequality in education, corruption is at the root of many problems youth are facing today.
Within this framework, we have embarked on a project that aims to train youth workers and empower young people to build monitoring communities against corruption.
Meet MoMoEU: More Monitoring action in the EU!
The MoMoEU project responds to the general lack of training opportunities for youth workers on the specific topics of integrity education and civic monitoring.
The interactive portal developed by MoMoEU-partners offers participatory materials and digital tools specifically designed for young people aged 15-25 from different national and social contexts. The project provides youth workers with an innovative methodological approach and online educational resources.
With MoMoEU, youth workers can engage young people in transparency and corruption prevention issues, through hybrid or fully digital (remote) activities.
We want to support young people in finding their way to be the change makers in our society – and we need to strengthen the links between youth integrity education and anti-corruption fields.
MoMoEU is building further on You Monitor project: all the contents of MoMoEU portal are based on the You Monitor’s methodology.
If you experiment with the project, please remember to fill in our feedback survey. Your experience matters to us!

The You Monitor Toolkit collects non-formal educational resources on integrity, civic monitoring and anti-corruption, for youth workers and young people. Through theoretical chapters about power and corruption and practical examples for activities to be carried out on-site, the Toolkit challenges young people to think about the personal dimension of the use and abuse of power and to manage potential conflicts of interests in their own lives. It also provides a compass to guide them toward monitoring the common good by critically observing their surroundings and holding public decision-makers accountable.
You Monitor is the project that preceded MoMoEU and was completed in January 2023 by a partnership of seven organisations. It was also co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme (project no. 2020-2-DE04-KA205-019925).
The Toolkit is available in 4 languages (DE, EN, FR, IT), free to download, licensed and released under the Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)
